A well-maintained storefront not only attracts new customers to your business, it also enhances the overall appeal of downtown Trenton. By making a commercial business district more visually appealing, façade improvement programs can help increase property values, boost foot traffic to small businesses, attract new businesses and investors to the district, and preserve historic buildings.
The TDA Façade Improvement Grant Program is designed to support small businesses in the downtown Trenton Special Improvement District by providing financial assistance for exterior upgrades.
Façade improvements enhance storefronts for individual business owners and create a more inviting and dynamic commercial district for all.
Eligible applicants—including small business owners and commercial or mixed-use property owners—can receive grants covering 75% of the total project cost, up to $5,000. These funds help offset the cost of renovations such as painting, signage, lighting, and other approved exterior improvements. By investing in façade improvement, businesses can boost curb appeal, increase foot traffic, and create a more welcoming environment for customers.
To take advantage of this opportunity, applicants must complete and submit the required application form. Only fully completed applications will be considered for grants, and all improvements must adhere to local zoning guidelines.
