Where do you go in the heart of downtown Trenton for a drink or a bite to eat in a cozy, yet sleek and sophisticated environment? If you know, you know. If you don’t, it’s time you found out! The Station Tapas and Bar has now been open for several months, and it’s already a favorite spot for those looking for something a little different. The restaurant, tucked away and unassuming from South Warren Street, reveals a delightful surprise when you enter.
The decor at The Station Tapas and Bar features a lot of wood and metal, a nod to Trenton’s industrial heritage. Yet it is the international food, signature cocktails and friendly vibe that keep regular customers coming back.
From $11 espresso martinis and carajillo cocktails on Mondays, to Wine Down Wednesdays, to $5 Fridays, this hidden gem offers unique menu items and themed specials every day of the workweek. Stop by for lunch or dinner for attentive service and delicious food. DJs on special themed nights, such as salsa parties and Mexican nights, keep the energy high.
While only a few months old, the restaurant is already known for its churros con chocolate, Spanish-style paella, crispy chicken wings, bravas potatoes, empanadas and, of course, all its tapas, which are small plates to share.
“The Station is a very social spot. There is a lot going on here. We have a lively crowd,” says Danna Espinoza, who is a manager at the restuarant. Like the TV show “Cheers,” the Station has a bar “where everyone knows your name.” And almost everyone in Trenton seems to know the Station’s bartender, Joey Bayard.
“Joey is an amazing bartender,” she continues. “He has created specialty cocktails for us, like the cosmo caboose, skeleton key (featuring Woodford Reserve bourbon), and his own signature espresso martini and carajillo that people love. We also have a dozen craft beers and other drinks, including mocktails.”
The Station, located at 14 South Warren Street, is currently open Monday through Friday, but may be open for limited hours on some weekends. Call (609) 225-9130 for more information.
The Station is also a popular space for private events. For more information, contact dannavianey25@gmail.com.
